Hello, I'm Jobin Jose

I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Finance at Western University, where I've developed a strong foundation in financial markets, quantitative analysis, and risk management. While my academic journey has equipped me with essential theoretical knowledge, my true passion lies in the practical application of these principles through systematic trading in forex and indices markets.

My Trading Journey

What began as curiosity about market dynamics has evolved into a disciplined approach to trading built on institutional order flow concepts and price action analysis. I specialize in multi-timeframe analysis, focusing on high-probability setups where smart money leaves clear footprints: fair value gaps, liquidity sweeps, and changes in state of delivery.

Trading has taught me invaluable lessons beyond profit and loss: the importance of patience, the necessity of risk management, and the discipline to follow a systematic process even when emotions tempt deviation. Every trade, win or loss, is a data point that refines my understanding of market structure.

Why Forex & Indices?

I'm drawn to forex and indices trading for several compelling reasons:

  • Market Efficiency: The 24-hour nature of forex markets and the liquidity of major indices provide countless opportunities to apply systematic strategies across multiple timeframes.
  • Institutional Participation: These markets are heavily influenced by smart money, making them ideal for order flow analysis and understanding how large players position themselves.
  • Leverage & Accessibility: The ability to control significant positions with proper risk management allows for capital efficiency while maintaining strict 1% risk per trade discipline.
  • Pure Technical Analysis: Price action in these markets reflects real-time sentiment shifts, economic data releases, and institutional positioning, creating a rich environment for technical traders.

My Trading Philosophy

"Amateurs think about how much money they can make. Professionals think about how much money they could lose." – Jack Schwager

This quote fundamentally shaped how I approach every trade. Before I consider potential profits, I ask myself: "What's my maximum loss, and can I survive it?" This mindset shift transformed my trading from gambling into a sustainable profession.

My philosophy is built on three defensive principles:

  • Capital Preservation Above All: Never risk more than 1% per trade. Every trade is executed knowing exactly what I'm willing to lose before thinking about what I could gain. My first job is to protect my account, not grow it aggressively.
  • Position Sizing = Risk Control: I size positions based on stop-loss distance, not on how confident I feel. Emotions don't determine risk, mathematics does. This ensures that even a string of losses won't devastate my account.
  • Worst-Case Scenario Planning: Before entering any trade, I visualize the worst possible outcome. If price stops me out, will I be able to trade tomorrow? If the answer is no, I don't take the trade. Survival first, profits second.

By focusing obsessively on what I could lose rather than what I could make, I've found that profits take care of themselves. A 1:4 risk-reward ratio means I only need to be right 25% of the time to break even—but my edge comes from being right 40-50% of the time while never risking more than I can afford to lose.
